Students will learn the basic techniques of handbuilding which will lead to a sculptural process through a series of three projects. The first incorporates learned techniques of coiling and slabs. The second will involve the creation of a container. The third will explore sculpture as a way to create functional and non-functional pieces without use of the wheel; however alterations from the wheel are possible if the student has prior experience.
